MINI 1962 LHD WHITE LIGHTWEIGHT
This has to be the ultimate specification lightweight Mini as built by Martin Prasse in Germany between 2007 and 2009. With 138bhp in a car of just 625kg, that gives this car 220bhp/ton. The history file with the car contains invoices for just short of 30000 GBP,this does not include the labour or the original body which has gone into this build which has incredible attention to detail and modern technical features.To replicate this car to the same level would surely cost in excess of 45,000 GBP including the labour and bodyshell.As shown on the cover of MiniWorld magazine for July 2011, with 8-page article inside. Has Dutch registration document and German "Oldtimer" card.
Specification.
Engine: 1380cc, MiniSport 7 port head, twin 40 Weber carbs, roller rockers, lightened balanced, Swiftune flywheel, Kent 296 cam, KMS ignition, stainless Maniflow LCB exhaust manifold with side exit system, alloy radiator. 138bhp @ 7800rpm and 104ft/lb @ 5400rpm.
Transmission: Quaife 4 speed dog box, 3.44:1 Swiftune LSD, sintered clutch.
Brakes: Front KAD 4 pot alloy callipers, vented/grooved discs. Rear KAD discs, Tilton pedal box with Willwood cylinders, brake proportioning valve, Trigger handbrake.
Suspension: Force Racing titanium front subframe with adjustable tie-rods, top arms, bottom arms and uprights also in titanium. ProTech adjustable coil-over dampers, adjustable camber brackets, KAD alloy rear radius arms, front and rear strut braces.
Steering: Quickrack, lengthened/lowered column, Momo wheel.
Wheels/tyres: Force Racing 7x10 3-piece alloy split rims, Yokohama AO32R 165/70x10.
Interior: Multi point weld in rollcage, vinyl bucket seats with Speedwell badges, OMP 3-point harnesses, OMP fire extinguisher, Motogadget speedo, alloy fuel tank mounted in centre of boot.
Bodyshell: 1962 deseamed, GRP Innocenti style boot, carbon fibre doors, GRP flip front, Mk1 front grille, plastic side/rear windows, LED Mk1 style rear lamps.
